About The Programme
Supporting Children Since 2002
Social Development and Research Centre (SDRC) has been implementing the Open Shelter Home Programme since 2002 for the welfare, care and protection of street children in urban and semi-urban areas.
The programme provides community-based non-institutional care for children facing neglect, abuse, exploitation, homelessness and hazardous working conditions.
Implemented under Mission Vatsalya and the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), the shelter supports children referred through the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Thoubal.
The programme aims to bring children into mainstream society through education, counseling, protection and skill development.
