Secretary’s Report

SDRC is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political, non-sectarian and secular voluntary organization working for the welfare of poor and backward peoples specially rural and urban men, women and children with sole objective to uplift socio-economic, educational and living standards. At the entering of 29th year of its social service, humanity has entered a phase of historical transition marked by conflict between human, animal activities and environment constraints. Despite these, SDRC has been functioning different programmes smoothly.

Manipur being a hilly remote State, socio-economic conditions are adverse and most rural people are backward lacking knowledge in education, vocational training, sports, Social Defense etc. SDRC has undertaken many development and welfare programmes since its establishment with help of local well-wishers, clubs/associations, mahila mandals, Government and Non-government institutions, donors, state & national funding agencies.

The present report gives hope of future expansion. Activities undertaken during financial year 2024-25 are given in brief below.
